LJUBE MILENKOVSKI ps Ljube Milenkovski was born on 5.07.1937 in the village of Sopot, Sveti Nikole. He finished primary school in the village Gorobinci, Sveti Nikole, when he enrolled in the Teacher's School "Goce Delchev" in Stip. He as a child had a great desire to become a teacher. First and second year he completed in the Teacher's school in Shtip, and third, fourth and fifth year in the Teaching school "Nikola Karev" in Skopje in 1958, with great honors.
Immediately after completing the studies, starting from September 1958, he worked as a teacher for six years in two schools in Tetovo, and the last year in his home village of Sopot. As a teacher of educational and pedagogical services he was evaluated - "particularly outstanding". This indicates that he took the teaching vocation very responsibly and seriously and he worked with great enthusiasm, patience and diligence, as well as with special respect towards the students, parents and pedagogical services.
With enriched and deepened methodical-didactic and pedagogical-psychological knowledge and experience in the academic year 1965/66 he enrolled as a regular student in the history-geography department at the Pedagogical Academy "Kliment Ohridski" in Skopje. To study the Pedagogical Academy at that time was a pride and honor for every student, because it was a kind of popular and scientific university that prepared teachers to work in schools in four languages: Macedonian, Albanian, Serbian and Turkish. In addition, the academy was one of the most developed, and most respected graduate schools in former Yugoslavia, in which students from almost every republic in Yugoslavia studied.

With its restraint in the discussion, tactics and as a great supporter of students' interests Milenkovski has been elected as president of the SSJ.
Despite this, he was a member of a dozen committees and boards of the Students' Association and all those duties were very responsibly and successfully performed. But, that was not an obstacle to regularly follow the classes and to be a great student. He completed the Academy of Pedagogy in three semesters with an average of 9,50. Due to the solid success he was rewarded by the teaching council with a cash prize and two volumes of historical and geographical sciences books. After graduating, he started working at the primary school "Vera Ciriviri Trena" in Skopje, as a history and geography teacher. The desire for knowledge was stronger in him than being a teacher and mentor for life. Having that aim in mind he enrolled as a part time student at the Department of Geography at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje.
He completed the exams in regular time at the faculty in less than two years in 1969 with an average of 8.94. After that, he was employed as a geography teacher in the high school "Brakja Miladinovci" in Dracevo for five years and as a director at the "Kuzman Shapkarev" also in Dracevo for three years.
In the academic year 1971/72 he became a graduate at the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Belgrade, Geography department. He successfully defended his master thesis entitled "Spa tourism in SR Macedonia".
But he did not stop there, he continued to enrichment with new knowledge of geographical sciences. After less than a year from defending the master thesis, he defended his doctoral thesis on 19th of January 1983 at Geography department, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The doctoral thesis was entitled "Socio-geographic and agricultural characteristics of Gevgelija-Valandovo valley" and obtained a doctoral degree in geographical sciences.
Prof. Lube Milenkovski, PhD was elected as a university professor for the first time on 1st of October 1975 at the Pedagogical Academy "St. Kliment Ohridski" in Skopje, and from 1981 to 30.03 in 1985 was appointed as Doctor at Pedagogical Academy "Kliment Ohridski" in Skopje. From 30.03.1985 year until 1993 he works at the Institute of geography at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics as a geography professor.
Few teachers in the country have the honor to boast with the educational structure as professor Ljube Milenkovski. He was a complete teacher who gained all levels of education while working with students of all ages starting from primary school to faculty students. Thus, prof. Ljube Milenkovski started his development in the field of education as a teacher, continued as a professor, lecturer, MA and finished as a PhD professor at University.
Prof. Ljube Milenkovski, PhD has published a great number of scientific papers published in collections of scientific papers in many of our congresses, symposia, conferences, etc., in the former Yugoslavia. They were particularly highly rated at conventions and symposia in Portoroz, Novi Sad, Pristina, Smederevo, Vranje, Belgrade, Berovo, Struga and a dozen other cities.
Professor Milenkovski played an important role in our book production. He was a great practitioner who always insisted that theoretical knowledge should find practical application in the classroom. For pupils, he wrote three books in the fifth, seventh and eighth grade, and for the students in secondary education, six textbooks.

If an analysis of his textbooks for primary and secondary school is made we are coming to the conclusion that the lessons in all of them contain all the methodical-didactic and pedagogical-psychological aspect that fit entirely to physical and mental abilities and age of the students. They are simple and simplified to the point that is acceptable to the weaker category of students. On a very easy and practical way he is looking and discovering causal relationships, recognizes the array of notions and their mutual connection need for the student to adapt, taking care not only for his physical and mental ability, but also for the possibility of the teacher to implement successful teaching even in severe conditions.
It is very important to note that through the process of generalization, the text in the books is purified to an extent that allows the teacher to independently come to new insights that will successfully be applied in teaching practice.
Professor Milenkovski left a deep trace in the Macedonian Textbooks, especially in teaching georgaphy. He marked the path needed to walk teaching practice. His visionary spirit today serves as a guideline for our colleagues and associates to continue to update this roadmap for better prosperity in teaching georaphy.
From all this little written about you professor Milenkovski, gratitude to you from your dearest students that are extremely grateful to being taught to read and write, the bigger ones for being introduced to the historical and geographical sciences, and from the oldest, to which you managed to reveal the secrets of learning and knowledge.
We, in turn, your students and associates proudly pronounce your name, with due respect for what you have done for geography. From that point, your first and last name we will exalt and will not fall into oblivion because we firmly decided our new geography association in the country to carry your name.
